In addition, the Hungarian company MOL will begin extracting gas in Kazakhstan
A record 630 thousand tons of crude oil will arrive in Hungary from Kazakhstan, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who participated in the negotiations in Astana as part of the official delegation of Prime Minister Orban. In addition, the Hungarian company MOL will begin extracting gas in Kazakhstan.
During negotiations with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Prime Minister of Hungary raised, in particular, the following issues: energy issues, including oil imports from Kazakhstan to Hungary. Although right now the cooperation is not so large scale, in the future, more intensive cooperation is possible, including in the nuclear sector, Orban noted.
In addition, by the end of the year, in the west of Kazakhstan the large Rozhkovskoye gas field, with a share of the Hungarian energy company MOL in the amount of 192 million US dollars, will be brought into development. It is expected that MOL will be able to produce about 100 million cubic meters of gas per year, said Szijjártó. Hungarian companies will also invest, in particular, in the development of green energy in the country.
The Rozhkovskoye field has recoverable natural gas reserves of 26,8 billion cubic meters and recoverable gas condensate reserves of 12,5 million tons.
