392 cases of whooping cough have been reported among children under 14 so far
Cases of whooping cough are on the rise in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Healthcare said in a statement, Kazinform News Agency reports.
392 cases of whooping cough have been reported among children under 14 so far. Of these, 90% of cases were registered among children under 5 years old.
The Healthcare Ministry reminded of the importance of vaccination against the disease.
Whooping cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection which is most dangerous for babies. It spreads easily and can sometimes cause serious health problems, including seizures and brain damage.
