Gross agricultural output for the past nine months grew with the quantum index reaching 116.7%
Karaganda region harvested a record-high 1,300,000 tons of grain this year. The region’s grain harvest hit an 11-year high, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the akimat press service.
Gross agricultural output for the past nine months grew with the quantum index reaching 116.7%. The highest grain harvest is recorded in Abai, Bukhar Zhyrau, Nura and Osakarovka districts with a yield of 15 centners per hectare, head of the agriculture department of Karaganda region Sayat MUSSIN said.
Notably, the region also boasts a high potato harvest with 299,000 tons collected that fully meets domestic needs. It also secured 23,400 tons of oil-bearing crops with a yield of 7 centners per hectare.
