Minister Svetlana Zhakupova had stated that the number of children with disabilities increased by 11.4% in Kazakhstan in the past three years
Kazakhstan is set to introduce a new standard for pediatric anesthesiology and resuscitation care based on Open ICU principle, Kazinform reports.
This initiative will allow parents to stay with their children who are receiving treatment in intensive care units.
The Open ICU principle will apply to children with disabilities, those with oncological and hematological diseases, and those in need of palliative care, orphans, and children left without parental care, reads the document.
The proposal also suggests reducing the preoperative examination time for children to 12-24 hours. Furthermore, only specialists with at least seven years of experience will be able to provide anesthesiological care to children in outpatient settings.
The draft document is open for public discussion until February 28, 2025.
Recall that Kazakhstan launched the production of unique radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosing oncological diseases.
As reported earlier, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the population Svetlana Zhakupova had stated that the number of children with disabilities increased by 11.4% in Kazakhstan in the past three years.
