According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, a total of 13,743 foreign citizens are currently employed legally in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The majority of foreign workers belong to the category of managers and their deputies, with 564 and 2,585 permits issued for heads of structural subdivisions, respectively. Most of the foreign workers are specialists and skilled workers at 4,913 and 999 people respectively. Additionally, 1,186 people were attracted for seasonal work, and 3,496 people were attracted as part of corporate transfers.
A total of 1,744 employers in Kazakhstan have employed foreign citizens. These employers have a total workforce of 388,000 Kazakhs, constituting 96.5% of the total number of employees.
The largest number of people are employed in the sectors, including construction (5,390 people), manufacturing industry (1,455 people), mining and quarrying (1,335 people), administrative and auxiliary services (1,305 people), agriculture, forestry, and fishery (1,237 people).
In the context of countries in Kazakhstan, the largest groups of citizens are from China (4,881 people), followed by Uzbekistan (1,273 people), Türkiye (1,203 people), and India (1,095 people).
It was earlier reported that the Kostanay region had attracted approximately 1 billion tenge worth of foreign investments in the past two years, leading to creation of over 1,000 jobs.
