This year projects to ship 1.5 million tons of Kazakhstan’s oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline
Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of increasing oil shipment through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from the current 1.5 million tons to 20 million tons a year, Kazakh Energy Minister Almassadam SATKALIYEV told the Government Hour at the Majilis, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The Kazakh Energy Ministry, KazMunayGas National Company, and other concerned parties discuss the development of additional oil transportation routes due to the rise in crude production and the launch of new offshore projects spotlighting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
The minister said the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan is one of the promising routes since Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan’s partners vest interest in the development and systematic increase in Kazakhstani oil supplies through the pipeline.
