Kazakhstan has secured a niche of approximately 2% among global oil producers
Kazakhstan has set a new oil production record, accounting for around 2% of global supply, according to the Telegram channel "Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan: Facts and Comments."
In February, Kazakhstan increased its oil and gas condensate production by 13% compared to January, reaching a record 2.12 million barrels per day (bpd) from 1.87 million bpd. This growth was driven by increased output at the Tengiz oil field following the launch of the third-generation plant. Last month, Tengizchevroil LLP boosted its production by 41.5% compared to the previous month.
Goodbye, Kazakhstan's Participation in the OPEC+ Deal?
On February 26, during a press briefing, Minister of Energy Almasadam SATKALIYEV stated: "In terms of overproduction, we see a certain policy primarily aimed at advancing Kazakhstan's interests. We are implementing all necessary measures related to optimizing production volumes without harming major oil and gas projects."
Considering that as of January 2025, global oil supply reached 102.7 million bpd, Kazakhstan has thus secured a niche of around 2% among global oil producers.
